Help..
My little one had a really bad staph and group b strep skin infection at 5 days old. We were in hosp for 5 days on IV anti b.
Since she’s continued to have flare ups in her neck. Hosp paed have referred us to immunology as it keeps coming back.
GPs think instead it’s poss eczema flare up making skin weak and infecting,
She’s already had a second set of anti b and gps are saying to try and control without going back on them as it’s not good- which I totally get.
We have immunology in June, I’m seeing a private pead in a week. I’m just so scared she’s at risk with her immune system? No ones giving anything more than referrals - also been referred to dermatology. She’s never had a fever or seems unwell with it other than it being there but she doesn’t like it being cleaned much.
When it gets aired out it does decrease in redness. It doesn’t really progress past this but if it’s swabbed it always comes back staph and sometimes thrush and once before group strep b.
I’m so at a loss 😣 I can hardly ever get into dr we’re using clotromizole and we did use hydrocortisone which takes all the redness down but we can’t use it long term and so have to break from it which has made it all go red again!! T
