Another nickname besides Jr?

We are planning on naming the baby after my husband (Nicholas Matthew) but I dont really want to call him Jr. What other nicknames are there?

Nicknames in our family for boys/men with the same name (we’re on 6 generations so far) are Dusty, Buzzy, Buddy, Bubba ... there are loads to choose from. Google can help

My husband is also a Nicholas, you could call him Nico?? Definitely avoid Nick Jr, poor kid doesn’t need the nickelodeon joke lol. My husband always hated those growing up.

My brother actually goes by the name my dad does not use. He is a Junior. 
A whole new nickname was given to him due to 5 other family members have the same name. Juan lol. So my grandpa is Juan, uncle goes by Johnny, Dad goes by Carlos, cousin goes by JC and my bro goes by booboo. Lol and to ad to the mix of Juan’s my husband is referred to by his last name. 😂
So just a new nickname might be better all together.
