Too independent? (check info)

Question

So I was wondering if a 9mo old can be too independent?
Like most of the time he doesn't even care we're here?
I mean.. I'm not complaining too much as I'm working from home and he's just playing...
But I do kinda worry if it's normal or something?
He does recognize us and knows us and likes spending time with us but at thesame time he can play independently for hours..
So my question would be: can a 9 month old be "too" independent??

I wouldn’t worry if he still smiles at you/recognises you/interacts with you at other times.

My daughter has always been very independent too, she can play by herself for hours as long as I'm near by. She's 13 months and about to start daycare so we will see if she interacts with the others but I'm not worried about it.

My babe was like this. I almost felt like a bad mom because he never wanted me to play with him, he was so content playing alone lol. But it’s totally normal and he 100% also goes through his clingy stages so enjoy the independence while it’s there 🤣
