Can I hold my baby after c-section??

My first baby was an emergency c and I had to be put under general anesthesia soon after he was born. The first time I got to hold him was over an hour after his birth. This baby I’m pregnant with now might be our last and I’m wanting this experience to be the best it could possibly be.

I’m wondering if anybody who’s had a C-section has been able to hold their baby as soon as they came out for as long as they wanted? Pretty much as much like a vaginal birth as possible.
