Is it normal for a period to be late?

So I'm already 5 days late and it's never happened before and it's throwing me off. It's always on time or a little bit early so the fact that it's late is not normal for me at least. I'm expecting it any moment now because I've been super moody and crampy but nothing is coming. I'm getting stressed to the point I'm googling why and I'm getting really sad answers lmao I'm so stressed and anxious lol

It’s totally normal. Cycles can vary in length up to nine days and still be considered normal. There are a millions minor things that can cause a late period, stress being a big one. And then (especially if you’re not trying to get pregnant) you get more stressed about yourself period being late and it becomes this big cycle. Just try and relax (easier said than done I know) and it’ll probably come before too long. If it stays gone another week or so you can go to your doctor and she’ll run blood work to make sure everything is fine. But even occasionally skipping a period can be normal. Stressful. But normal.

That happened to me. So I just took a hot bath for about 15 mins. and the next day my period came.

Totally and completely normal. We all have wonky, late cycles sometimes. Not a cause for concern
