This is kinda long, sorry.

So, the third tri for me has been quite a roller coaster. At the beginning, we had our first 3rd tri growth scan and baby was measuring 6th%(percentile) in gestational weight. So we were made high risk, had to go in twice a week to sit on the fetal heart rate monitor for an hour and we’re referred to an MFM.

After two weeks we finally saw the MFM who had three people perform growth scans on me to make sure the numbers were as accurate as possible. Found out baby was weighing 38th% and blood flow was good. So MFM wanted to see me back in a month and sent me on my way. I saw my OB/GYN the next week and was pulled off of high risk and scheduled for another growth scan in two weeks.

Two weeks go by (so this is last Thursday, and I remember I was exactly 35 weeks for this scan) they do another growth scan baby is 18th% (5lbs exactly), which is still pretty good! Doc does a pelvic exam, I’m not dilated, but slightly effaced (all normal). Tell me to schedule another appt in a week and send me on my way.

Today I had my growth scan with the MFM. I’m 35+6, and they told me that baby is measuring at 3rd% and weighing 4.7lbs (so less than what was measured last week?) He said baby is super healthy, she’s just shrimpy. I see my OB/GYN tomorrow and we’re expected to make a battle plan. The MFM said that I need to come in again next week to check to make sure blood flow is still good and that we’ll likely induce the very next day when I’m exactly 37 weeks.

So I’m really confused how these numbers could be so vastly different! I was really hoping to deliver closer to my due date and REALLY didn’t wanna induce as I wanted to spend very little time trapped in a hospital room. Has anyone else gotten different measurements like this? I’m honestly starting to distrust these machines.
