Does your baby sleep with you or in their cot?

I know it’s not the safest to sleep holding your baby but it’s the only way both of us get sleep at night as he’s super alerted during the night - literally don’t know how. He can be snoring and the moment I put him down he wakes up and cry.
It’s so soothing for both of us and we have been sleeping so well for at least a month now :)) 
He’s 10 weeks okd!

I co sleep and always have done my 2 other boys also used to co sleep I know people would advise not to but j think it’s a personal choice and as long as you are following advise around co sleeping x

Thanks ladies for your input. My bubba went through major operation at 2 weeks old and he cried so much at night to the point the nurses were helping me carrying him so I could get some sleep. They found me cuddled him to get some sleep towards the end and literally could not say anything else :)) I will always have to be extra cautious but apart from night time he has given me as a FTM such a cruisy journey so hopefully he will easily transfer to his cot at later stage

We do bassinet next to our bed. I really wanted to co-sleep but after learning how to do it properly It seemed too challenging for us. 
For co-sleeping (specifically bed sharing) I highly recommend the book Sweet Sleep by La Leche Leaguei International. It’s pro- bed sharing but teaches how to do it so it’s not dangerous. 
Not judging just sharing information... even this extremely - pro bed sharing - book/organization says that napping with baby on chairs and sofas is extremely unsafe. It seems like a lot of people think the danger is baby falling out of their arms. Yes, that is a concern but the real danger from napping with a parent in a sofa or chair is suffocation which is more dangerous because it’s silent. 
I know it’s so hard! So no judgement. When my son went through a phase when he wouldn’t sleep unless held, my husband and I stayed up all night and slept in shifts. Then we learned the Taking Cara Babies method to teach him how to soothe to sleep.  
And Sweet Sleep is a great resource!!!

My baby sleeps in his crib at night and everywhere else during the day. His crib is currently on our room, a few feet away from our bed.
My first (who is 5 now) slept with us (actually he slept with *me*in a different room when he was an infant due to safety concerns but once he was able to freely move we got a long sized bed and he slept with us). He started sleeping in his own room at 4 1/2 but still comes into our room in the wee hours of the morning the majority of the time. 
I will be honest, I enjoyed and still enjoy the snuggles.  They are only young once...but it was not at all easy to transition my son to independent sleeping (one could say we are still in the process) and that is a huge reason why there is a 5 year age gap between him and my baby and why I am ultimately doing things a bit differently this time.

Currently co-sleeping with my 7 week, as I know how you feel Mama! I could only get sleep while holding her or else I would get nothing. I’m an extremely light sleeper and I know I shouldn’t be but it’s the only way. As of now, we are currently trying to move her into the bassinet but having no luck 🥲

I cosleep too. Sometimes it’s the only way to get some sleep and a severely sleep deprived mama can be more dangerous than sleeping with your baby xx

Bassinet 100% of the time for us overnight. Some naps are holding or baby wearing naps so he gets plenty of contact during the day. Some naps are also on his own. I’m an extremely deep sleeper, as is my husband so no form of co-sleeping or bed sharing is safe at all for our family.

I think humans may well be the only mammals on this earth who expect their babies to not sleep with them. All other mammals sleep in the same nest with their babies, and I think we evolved to do the same. Physical contact is very beneficial for babies, and it's one of the reasons they sleep better when close to their caregivers. Just make sure you keep the baby safe from harm while doing it.

We have the baby delight co sleeper, my baby girl slept on her own in her bassinet all of her naps and overnight but at 6 weeks she started to want to sleep in our arms. She sleeps fine here if she fusses I can soothe her easily and she sleeps through the night (2 months)
