Do clothing brands fit different?

My baby is 5 months old and I received some clothes from overseas (I live in the Caribbean) the 3m clothes are just now starting to fit him (it's mostly carters and some other mixes thrown in.) I'm wondering if he's too small or American babies are much bigger??

Is your dr conceded? If not then I wouldn’t worry. All clothing brands fit differently. It’a like adult clothing brands. I find certain companies fit way differently than others

In our case, American brands are way smaller than European ones. My daughter is 97 percentile in US and in Europe she is just an average. She is 3.5 years old and wears 5T size in US. But every brand is different with fitting so you just have to keep trying which works the best.

Brands vary widely and also some materials shrink once washed.
Good news is, after the first year, growth slows down and things get more gradual. 
The first year or so can be frustrating though. Some of the cutest things were never worn by my little guy because he outgrew them before I thought he was ready!

Omg all brands are super different. Don’t judge your baby’s size on clothing. It’s very frustrating haha But I guess it’s the same with adult clothing.

All brands fit differently. And we skipped the 12-18 size because my girl was growing too fast. Super annoying but it is what it is. Currently my girl wears a 3T shorts and 4T shirts, she weighs and is the same size as her cousin, a boy. He wears 2T-3T sizes. Boys sizes are bigger than girls too.

Look at the sizing charts. Gerber tends to run smaller. 
Carter’s labels their sizes different than a lot of other companies. The size 3 months in Carter’s is 0-3 months in other clothing brands. So if you notice Carter’s seems small, it’s because it is the wrong size. 
I look at the sizing charts for the clothes I buy for baby. I use it as a guide and move to the next size based on fit. Gerber is the first baby will fit I. The next size but the first to grow out of (for us).

Clothing sizes are very inconsistent. It’s ridiculous. My son is 20 months and wearing 18-24 month stuff. But I was going through his smaller clothes that I saved and found a couple pairs of 12 month shorts from last summer that still fit him.

For sure. Even within brands. Carter’s has another baby clothes brand, likely simply joyful or something, which fits different than just normal Carter’s

I think All brands fit differently. My baby is the same. I received a few stuff as well. When he was still wearing newborn and 1st month clothing at 3 months I got concerned and asked the doctors if he was not growing and it turns out he was the right everything for his age. Now he's 5 months and is just fitting into 3month clothing (I think it's a plus I get to keep him fly a little longer 😂) I gave away all of the newborn and first month stuff.
