Baby on medicade question

My babies father and I are not together, nor does he seem interested in trying to be around. I do need to put my daughter on medicade once she is born and I just found out that medicade will take it upon themselves to go after him for child support. I was not going to do this as I don’t want him involved and wanted to avoid court. Does anyone have any experience with this?
