how did u know u had preeclampsia??

So recently today i started￼ experiencing a pain on my right side under my ribs. i was hoping any of u mommas that have experienced this can explain how that pain felt for you or what other symptoms you had or how you found out

Under the rib pain can absolutely be a sign of preeclampsia.  I had it twice and they asked over and over if I was showing that as a symptom.
For me though, first time, it was headaches, dizziness, and seeing stars.  I have chronic low blood pressure so thought it was that and went in for a check.  I was shocked that my bp was so high and was sent straight to labor and delivery.  I spent 2 weeks there.  
Second time, I had post partum preeclampsia.  I had headaches but I kind of attributed it all to having just given birth lol.  
I didn’t have swelling or rib pain either time but the symptoms vary for women.

I would speak to your doctor about it. If you notice it after eating it could mean gallbladder inflammation but it never hurts to ask your doctor. When I had preeclampsia my rib pain felt like sharp, almost like a burning stabbing sensation. It’s kind of hard to explain but it was the one sign I had then High Bp. Had to do 48 hour urine and ended up having to have c section at 38 weeks exactly. My high bp and high heart rate was stressing baby out and his hr kept dropping.

I would mention the rib pain to your doctor but for most with rib pain as apart of their preeclampsia it is really severe.

This is from my preeclampsia group on Facebook. They reiterate that you can have one, none, or all of these symptoms. I had preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome (a severe form of preeclampsia) with my first pregnancy, but I didn’t have any obvious symptoms until they did bloodwork and took my blood pressure when I was already in labor. Some women with HELLP have normal blood pressure, so if you’re having pain under your rib I would definitely let your dr know so you can have bloodwork done.

I haven’t had it personally but my aunt had preeclampsia with each of her 4 pregnancies, every time she began to start showing symptoms it started with the abdominal/ rib pain and high blood pressure. Good luck girl!

Mine was swelling in hands and feet.  This also alerted my doctor.  I thought my swollen feet were because I was working 10 to 12 hour days in a hot factory on my feet and not elevating properly.

I was told I didn’t have it Bc it wasnt 140... but in the 130s lost my child to possibly to it . So all I will say is if you are feeling unlike ur self GET CHECKED. Please !

I had no signs until high blood pressure at my 36+4 appointment and confirmed with protein in urine after 24 hour collection. Had baby at 37weeks exactly! Definitely ask doctor and they can do labs to confirm and closely monitor progression over time. Good luck!
