Anyone a case manager?

I have an opportunity to be a case manager in the mental health field. I will build my own clientele, and bill per the guidelines. Is anyone a CM here and can you tell me your usual monthly income? And how/what can you bill? I know with case management you should generally have five contact methods a day or something like that. I feel like this would be great, just nervous!

I’m a therapist, but started out as a case manager for foster kiddos. It’s hard and it doesn’t usually pay well. It’s difficult to keep up with documentation, and it’s just a really exhausting job. I would recommend it as an entry level position, but not forever career.

I have been a case manager for a few years and I’ll tell you it’s pretty difficult. I don’t really have a set income because it varies based on what I can bill. You’ll have to check with your state guidelines on what you can or cannot bill, for instance I am in Idaho and I cannot bill just for contact I have to bill if I am with the client or performing a duty on behalf of the client. There have been some months my income has been as low as $500 and some months where it’s been as high as few thousand. It can be lucrative but difficult, just make sure you follow state guidelines.
