Can someone tell me if I have dry socket or not?

I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed on Monday. None of my other sockets are bothering me. I’m not so much feeling pain, just discomfort. There is a not so normal taste but I’ve been gargling with warm saltwater after every time I eat. Dont be rude, I’m just curious. I have my follow-up appointment on Monday.

Nope! It’s just healing! I had all 4 of mine removed last year and went back after a few days because I could have sworn I had it as well. Worst pain ever but the dr said you would smell it as well.

From my understanding dry socket is really painful. I would continue with the instructions your dentist gave you.

There’s something light in color? Tbh idk what dry socket is but things don’t look too bad. I had a small issue with sharp bone fragments from the jaw/mandible coming out in the weeks following my surgery. My recovery was good otherwise. I was given a syringe to actually squirt salt water right inside the holes to flush them out twice a day. If you have one, I recommend it

My SO was a dental assistant for years. He said dry socket smells really bad and is very painful. If its just slightly uncomfortable, it's probably just healing. He said maybe a small piece of bone got left behind and is working its way out (nothing to worry about but happens sometimes). Make sure you are taking your antibiotics if you were prescribed any.

You can't see it but you can sure in the hell feel it!! I had it and was the worst pain ever, no amount of over the counter helped! I called my dentist in the morning and they repacked them! Felt great after!

I gotta say my dry socket was EXCRUCIATING. There was no little discomfort it was god awful pain 😂 did you have your post op checkup? If not I’d mention it there and see what they say
