“Twins run in the family”… is this scientific?
I am a direct descendant of a twin born in 1908 4 generations back on my dads side (dominant male line- I have his last name) and my mother is the only child of my identical twin grandmother (b. 1948, 2 generations back, also direct descendant). My twin grandmas nieces are also identical twin girls. All three sets I described are identical.
Barring fertility treatments which I obviously hope I won’t need, do I have a legitimate increased chance of conceiving twins? I don’t have a primary care or gyn doctor at the moment and Google is contradictory at times. In the abstract it would be exciting but I have a history of extreme/debilitating back pain and other things that would likely make me high risk with even one.
I would love to hear from some people with twins in their lives even if you can’t explain the genetics aspect😅 in any case I would hope my first pregnancy could be just one pretty please 🤪
