Think of us all please UPDATE

Update: baby Barrett had surgery to correct the narrowing of his aorta Monday, and today they were able to close his chest back up, he’s been weaned off of his sedation and he opened his eyes today! hopefully in the next few days they will start weaning him off of the ventilator. To all of you who have been thinking of our family and praying, thank you! We’re nowhere near out of the woods yet, but we’ve come so far for only being 1 week old! Congenital heart disease is no joke! We have become so much more educated on this. He not only has coarctation of the aorta, but bicuspid aortic valve as well. He truly is our little warrior. The day after Baby Barrett was born they took him for his pulse ox test, he passed in his upper extremities, but not his lower. They repeated the test abc again, he failed it. They discharged me and sent him to children’s hospital where they did a heart ultrasound and echocardiogram where they found he has coarctation of the aorta 😢 he goes for surgery sometime at the beginning of next week. Please pray for us. This has been such a difficult time, it almost feels like a bad night nightmare. We’re so scared and just wanted to bring our baby home.
