MIL issues

I’ve never ever had an issue with my MIL! She’s always been great and I’ve always considered myself lucky to have decent in-laws!

However, an issue has come up that I just can’t get over.

In our area we’re still in full lockdown until at least 60% of the population gets the COVID vaccine.

My husband and I were super excited to get it and get back to normal!

My whole family has their first and is scheduled for their second in the next few weeks!

When my husband called his mom to see if she got it, she said she wasn’t because she heard from a co-worked that she knows someone who knows someone who got the AstraZenica shot and got their period for a couple days and they’re 70.

She also talked about how she’s basically fallen for the conspiracy theories and doesn’t want to get it. Despite my father in law and brother in law living with her and they both have asthma and health issues and COVID is a serious fear for them!

My husband basically gave her an ultimatum and said if she and his side of the family don’t get the vaccine, they can’t see our daughter unless it’s outside and socially distanced.

A few weeks later she claimed she was always going to get the shot, but now over a month later, still hasn’t gotten it.

I made a comment last night about her just saying she was going to get the shot but has no intention of getting it and my husband got upset that I called his mom a liar, when she’s had every opportunity in the last month to get it.

What would you do in this situation?

And before you comment anything anti-covid vaxx, don’t bother.
