Should I just move on? Read description

Been seeing this dude (m23) for almost four months. The first two months I (f21) was very hesitant on building any feelings or attachments because of my past relationship. So I didn’t ask any questions or nothing, him and I just kinda vibe and have a connection even without trying. We like each other (we said it to each other).

There’s a catch. He’s planning on moving away to texas next year and basically told me that if he wasn’t moving he’d “lock me down” (be his girlfriend). Which means this shit isn’t going anywhere basically. He did tell me that it’d be unfair of him to ask me not to see other people but I told him I probably won’t.

So in all honesty, I like this dude a lot. But I don’t want to drag this. Do I just keep being friends with him, doing couple shit and all that until he leaves? Or should I ask him straight up “hey I really like you a lot and I wanna give this a shot, do you want to try? And if you’re still moving next year we can talk about it again”
