Really struggling-autism?
Hi all
So my little one who turned 2 beginning of March is having real issues at the moment and I’m struggling to deal with him. He still is not talking at all he still babbles like an infant- he says ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ and ‘car car’ and that’s it. He really tries to communicate but gets frustrated because he just doesn’t know how. I have sat with him since about 12 months and tried to teach him easy words like ‘hi, bye, bus, book’ but nothing he doesn’t even attempt it.
On top of this I have noticed repetitive behaviours such as lining up all of his cars, putting everything into his play basket and them emptying it out and doing it again over and over and he can play this for hours. He Will sometimes go whole nights without sleeping AT ALL. He has recently started head butting the wall or floor when getting extremely upset and having a melt down. Another thing I’m really struggling with is his obsessed with playing with his saliva and spits EVERYWHERE and we have tried everything to get him to stop doing this and nothing works I’m at my wits end! We are just really struggling and awaiting an assessment to see if it is a kind of autism so any tips to help
