How often does the first boyfriend also become the one you marry?

So in other words, how many of you only ever had one boyfriend and he ended up being the one you married and are spending your whole life with?

I did not marry my first boyfriend. I didn't marry the boy I lost my virginity to. I didn't marry my "high school sweetheart".

I married the long shot. The one a mutual friend introduced me to. The one who lived on the other side of the country. The very conservative army college boy compared to my beach hippie self. We've been together 3years, married for 1, with a beautiful 9mo boy and baby #2 due in May. Sometimes your first love is just that, and sometimes he's just a lesson.

I met my husband at 15. He's the only real boyfriend I ever really had. We've been married 12 years, but together 15. When you know, you just know. I came in from our first group date (wasn't allowed to date alone yet) and told my mom that I hoped she like him because I was going to marry that boy! I did and we are now expecting our 2nd daughter. He's not perfect, but he's perfect for me!

Yeah, I think like PP said long loves can go either way. It can be about 50% chance, but then again statistically 50% of marriages whether old/new end up in divorce so it really doesn't matter anymore as long as you are w/the right  person. I'm one of those that married my HS bf and we've been together for 10yrs. I think is difficult to follow each other dreams but luckily part of the reason we fell in love was sharing a common goal. As of today, we have pictures of every graduation together fom HS to gradschool and also added a little mix of him/I, our dd over a year ago but eventhough it's difficult at times as he sometimes overdoes it (as far as workaholic), we support each other and he picks up my "laid back" personality and I bring him the positive side of things lol like I tell why to see the glass half empty when it can very well be half full?... You kind of complement each other and bring the best of you and him into the relationship... In the end years don't matter as long as you are happy every minute you are w/SO...😊☺️
