Did anyone else’s baby fail hearing test?

Question

My son failed his hearing test at 30 hours old in both ears. We have a audiologist appointment June 4. He startles to some stuff but not everything loud 
I’m worried about the outcome, I know if he is hard of hearing it’s not the end of our world but I do know it will be a huge adjustment 
I’m really hoping it’s middle ear fluid 
Anyone else’s baby go through this?

My sweet girl failed her hearing screening twice in both ears. We just got her to an audiologist this last Wednesday and found out she had mild/moderate permanent hearing loss in both ears. She will need hearing aids as soon as we can get them for her. I was very shocked and upset, but have been processing it and know that we will do what is best for her. I hope this doesn’t scare you, but am just sharing my experience. 💛

We failed our hearing screening as well. It could be bc the baby was fussy orb there’s still fluid in their ears. There’s also the possibility that the ear buds they used at the hospital were too big for your baby’s ears. My baby didn’t startle at loud noises or wake up when her siblings were too loud. I was very nervous. We had our follow up May 19th and she passed perfectly!

We failed the screening in one ear in the hospital and again 1 week pp. Seeing the audiologist this Friday. Hopefully it's nothing ❤️

My baby passed, but i will say as some reassurance that they can sleep through some really loud sounds and not be phased until they reach a few months old, so don’t go by that! Best of luck for a positive outcome - no matter what, i know your baby will be great!

Yes my son failed three times in the hospital and his doc said it was probably fluid to massage his ears and come back in two weeks, we came back and he passed.

Our baby had a second hearing test, they said usually there is fluids in the ears and can take up to weeks to be cleared out.

My baby failed half of her first hearing test but passed the second test two weeks later. It was just extra fluid

I am not in the same situation but a nurse at the hospital told us most babies actually fail the hearing test because of fluid hanging around so close to birth. I guess there are a lot of false positives. Good luck!
