When did you announce?

I hate secret or hiding things from my friends and family. I'm almost 8 weeks and I'm dying to tell my friends and sibling. How ever Ive been told by so many in the past to wait till 12 weeks at least. It's only 4 more weeks but Ugh. I hate hiding in fear of the what if they baby doesn't make it
My dating ultrasound was at 7w 2d and baby was 138 heart beat which is great I heard. So it seems strong. What should I do?!?

I am 7 weeks and just announced to my family after a good ultrasound this week. I've lost two babies before. I don't believe women should feel like they have to keep a miscarriage to themselves and suffer alone. I told close family and friends before each of my losses and did not regret having their support through it. I wouldn't tell aquaintences at this stage because it would be hurtful and awkward to have to tell them about a miscarriage.

I found out I was pregnant when I was visiting my family out of state. I took it as a sign and used the chance to tell them in person instead of over the phone ❤️ so they knew immediately. My co-workers and boss also knew immediately because of my job, 1. I can’t do all the things I was doing before safely and 2. There’s no way to hide my morning sickness there. We are going to announce on social media after we see the heartbeat probably. They told me they can find out the gender at 10 weeks and I want to have a party. If something goes wrong, I would want the support anyways

I have told some close friends and plan on telling family after first doctors appointment at 10 weeks. You can tell whoever you want, the 12 w rule is brcause chance of mc is lower after, but that just makes women suffer in silence.

We told close family and friends right away. I asked myself who I would end up telling for support if we did end up having a miscarriage. If someone fell in that category I told them early.

You can absolutely tell people now if you want! I told my parents and brother shortly after finding out at 4 weeks, and am now telling close friends in person (8 weeks, had my ultrasound Thursday). We also told the kiddos, and they are telling everyone and anyone. 😆
After 8 weeks, especially when the ultrasound looks good, chances of miscarriage are lower. It depends on your comfort level for when you tell people. If you want to tell them now, do it! 🙂

Not waiting until 12 weeks this time to publicly announce.  My family and best friends know already and they’re all my support people incase anything happens.

I told my partner before the test had even dried. My best friend found out 3 days after my positive test. I let a coworker who observed me in classroom know, because she noticed I was out of breath and uncomfortable and I didn’t want to just make something up. We told my MIL in person at exactly 5 weeks. Waiting for this weekend to tell my own family (parents and sister) and one of my best friends in person. I’ll tell my grandpa on the day of my ultrasound (I have that in the morning of 6w4d and will go visit him in the afternoon and tell the news if everything’s alright). My partner’s grandma will find out when we visit her around Midsummer’s Eve. Our extended families, colleagues, other friends and acquaintances will probably find out one by one once I start showing. Currently planning to not post anything baby-related on social media until baby is born, but who knows actually, maybe a cheeky Christmas photo with a noticeable bump would be nice.

I’m 7w2d and I tested before my missed period. I had a positive test at 10dpo and my husband and mom knew, then I told my sister the next day. They’re my biggest supports and have been with me through it all. I told my dad a couple days after because my mom didn’t want to keep it a secret. My grandparents, in laws, and my husbands siblings all know. I have an ultrasound booked for 9w2d and I plan to tell the world after that.

I totally believe this is a personal choice. 12 weeks is generally known as the "safe zone" but stuff can happen anytime. I told our entire family and all of our friends at 6 weeks. After 4.5 years of trying, I was ready. And I wouldn't want to hide a loss anyways, so this way if it happens I'll have support from the start.
