Ayone experienced "Mother's Thumb" While pregnant?

I've had on and off problems with carpal tunnel my entire adult life in general, So when this horrible pain in my thumb started, I just assumed it was pregnancy swelling causing the carpal tunnel to act up. I asked my doctor and she smiled and said "yep, it'll be gone shortly after baby arrives." 🙄 Then I started noticing it get MUCH worse, and realized it was presenting itself completely different than carpel tunnel ever has before. So at my next visit, I explained this to my doctor again. (I have a team of doctor's where I go, I don't always see the same one) She responds right away with "Oh, its Mother's Thumb!!"

....What? The? Fuck?

This is my second pregnancy to carry to term. My first wasn't accompanied by ANY of these weird symptoms. I never had swelling in my feet that I remember noticing, never had daily morning sickness, never had horrible shooting pains in my inner thighs when moving around, etc. It seems this pregnancy has taken all of the worst symptoms and given them to me full force 😭😭😭

As for the "Mother Thumb," It has gradually gotten worse and worse as my pregnancy has progressed. It is to the point now that my thumb feels like it pops in and out of place if I move it wrong. I looked up symptoms and it says the tendon will actually get "caught" and cause a catching or popping feeling. 🥺 Guys, it hurts SO EFFING BAD. My Doctors keep reassuring me it will go away almost immediately after the baby is born. I sure hope so, because it hurts so badly, I can't imagine trying to pick up my baby and hold him or do diaper changes with one hand. 😭

I'm scheduled for C-section in 3 days. Did any of you experience this or something similar? Did it really go away almost immediately? Did you do anything that helped it? Tylenol does nothing...ice does nothing... sleeping with it elevated does nothing... 😭 Help meeeee.
