Nipple Pain/Breastfeeding Struggles

Cydney

First time single mom!

So guys, I am 3 days postpartum with a sweet little girl. I’ve been decided on wanting to primarily breastfeed her since I found out I was even pregnant.

But after these last few days of popping the boob out and sometimes struggling to have her rematch correctly, my nipples are raw, sore to the touch, ripped (I can see a little flesh on both from where she matches). Even tried changing feeding positions so that she wasn’t putting strain on the same exact spots but that doesn’t seem to do anything either.

I bare through the pain to give my baby nourishment.

But last night she would not sleep, when trying to feed her I could not get her to latch for the life of me. I changed her diaper, rocked her, swaddled her, tried the pacifier, burped her. Everything I could think of since she wasn’t latching. Although she showed signs of being hungry and wouldn’t stop crying.

So after hours and hours of putting her down and her going berserk again and not being able to feed her with (do not have a breast pump yet and my colostrum does not flow out easily manually), i had to give her some formula just to tie her over....

Basically guys, if anyone has any sort of remedy or suggestion to the nipple pain, how you over came a low supply, why your baby stopped latching, what you do if your baby seems restless or how to tend and care for your nipples so that they don’t wound so easily. ANYTHING WILL HELP!

Thank youu
