Looking for VBAC experiences

Amy

I am 32 weeks and 6days, due July 20th with our baby boy Finley. I have an almost 11 year old daughter who was born by csection. I had gestational diabetes with her and they induced me 3 weeks early saying she was going to be huge. They gave me 2 rounds of pitocin and after very little progression, and 36 hours of not being able to walk around/stand/eat they told me they were stopping and would start over the next day. I became very frustrated which shot her heart rate through the roof and within 26 minutes she was born via emergency csection. 8lbs. I hemorrhaged horribly and was in the hospital an extra 3 days and almost needed a blood transfusion. It was anything but a pleasant experience.

That was almost 11 years ago.

Fast forward to this pregnancy, I do not have gestational diabetes, I’m 100lbs lighter, I’m active and I kickbox 3 days a week ( normally 6 but had to cut back) and I’m overall so much healthier and i have worked hard to strengthen my core and my body overall. I do not want to be cut again.

They walked into my 32 week appointment ready to schedule a csection and seemed almost offended and put off when I stated I wanted to see what my body could do first. I understand the risks but I feel that they try to push these out of convenience. I expressed that I’ve worked hard, I had a csection due to fetal distress NOT because I labored and couldn’t deliver. I want to have a natural delivery... or at least try and that has been my desire from the beginning.

I walked out of the appointment feeling defeated and feeling like I was being selfish for even wanting to try natural delivery.

Can you tell me your experiences? Am I being selfish? I just want to be smart but I also don’t want to be pushed into something out of convenience. No
