Need recommendations for monthly dog flea prevention... the vet one is pretty pricey every month.

Our dog is on advantage multi. It is a little pricey (about 85$ for 6 month supply) but it protects against a lot of things. Its worth it for us because we like to be outdoors, and our dog is prone to worms 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

We do bravecto and sentinel for flea, tick, heartworm. It hits other parasites too, but those are the concerning ones. I prefer these options as both as chewable, so toddler hands aren’t touching topical options. They aren’t cheap, but worth it. 
Please speak to your vet and let them know about your financial concern. Keep in mind that clinics regularly see patients who are incredibly ill from cheap or knockoff options, and that bill is hundreds to thousands more than paying a bit more each month for a legitimate option.

We use Nexguard or Nexgard... It's a chewable one. We get it from the vet but it's the same price on Chewy or at like Petco or Pet Supplies Plus

I use Bravecto chewables that protect for 12 weeks/pill. You can get a prescription from your vet. The OTC liquids don’t work as well and leave your dog with a nasty coat that no one wants to pet.

We get flea/tick pills from the vet. It's the only thing that actually works for us. We have 5 dogs. It's $23 a pill for the one month supply, they also have a 6 month pill for $123 a pill.

Mine is the flea, heart work, and tick medication all wrapped in one monthly pill. It’s the one from the vet but the price is worth it to me to fully protect her. I’ve read that the over the counter flea/tick/heartworm meds are not as effective as the one you get prescribed from the vet.

I use this one. It's a collar and lasts from March-November. We've never had an issue with fleas or ticks.
