When is best to express?

Question

Hi I'm looking to pump milk and freeze for my 1 week old for when I go back to work. I have a double pump and always offer my son both breasts per feeding so he has the best of both.
When would be the best time to pump?
Before, after, Inbetween feeds ect?
If I was to pump Inbetween feeds and he wakes looking for a feed straight after I pump will I still be able to produce to feed him? TIA

You should check out the Hakka!  It collects the let down milk from whatever breast you’re not currently offering during a feed; I have a friend who collected enough milk to fill a freezer that way and never had to pump! 🙏🏼

I would do after a feed. Since you offer both breast then the pump can collect anything baby may not have. Otherwise I would suggest having baby on one breast and pump the other and alternate each feeding. I’d be too nervous baby wouldn’t get enough milk if you did in between a feed
