I recently found out I'm pregnant with our 3rd. A complete surprise, as we weren't trying and were being safe. Lol apparently not safe enough 🤣 I'm still nursing my 2 year old. Anyone have any advice on nursing while pregnant? Should I wean him?

I am currently pregnant with baby number four. I am due in a few weeks. I have continuously been breastfeeding since my first was born. I nursed through all my pregnancies and tandem nursed twice already and in a few weeks will be tandem nursing again. I am not going to lie and say it’s the easiest thing but it worked for me. It is possible and perfectly safe. You need to just figure out what is best for you and your child.

I nursed my oldest until I was 6 months pregnant. He ended up self weaning. If you want to continue nursing him go for it!

I nursed up until 34ish weeks with my second and until 12-13 weeks with my third (weaned by choice because of horrible nipple tenderness and my son was 19mo so i was ok with cutting off the boob).

Personally I got pregnant when mine was 2 and she was breastfeeding and I should have quit sooner because I ended up having cervix problems idk if it was because of that of the fact that it was twins but I did force her to quit because I didn’t want to risk my babies but I would talk to your obgyn about it because mine advised me to stop at a certain point I think like 13w or something but it might be okay for you

Only wean if you want to!  I’m 23+4 weeks and still nursing my 21 month old.  There are no studies that actually show that it contributes to preterm labor, even in high risk pregnancies, according to my mfm.  You might experience additional cramping while you breastfeed, but it doesn’t harm the pregnancy
