When to go to L&D

Had an ob appt today. Dialated to a 4. Doc didn't say anything about my effacment. He said he doesn't think I'll make it to my c section date. Kept asking if I was sure about my contractions. Because I am not in severe pain yet just cramps. He said whenever I go.into labor he will do my c section and that he won't make me "labor". I'm not sure if that was a hey ypu can go in whenever to do it type of thing or if he's wanting me in active labor. Idk the comment was confusing. Having alot alot of cramps and back ache but ita not getting more intense. Constantly losing large amounts of mucus plug but no bloody show. Idk when to go in at this point. Should I go in tonight n see maybe I can meet my baby already or should I wait till the contractions get more intense.
