How do you sleep your newborn?

Does your newborn fall asleep after you feed them? Do you have to rock your baby to sleep?

My son is 6 weeks and he doesn’t always fall asleep after his feedings anymore.. during the day I’ll let him stay awake if he doesn’t fall asleep right after but at night I’ll rock him to sleep if I need to.

I always feed baby and keep her awake. Then I change her, swaddle her and lay her down in her bed while she’s still awake. I’ve done it since the day she was born and she goes right to sleep within about 5 minutes and sleeps about 8-9 hours.

For daytime sleep, I’ve been having to walk around/rock him or baby wear. At night, I use the rocking chair at the end of the feeding so the combo works.

My baby is almost 6 weeks. I feed her then burp. Play, talk and tummy time. I watch for her sleeping cues and this is usually when she starts getting fussy or yawning. I swaddle and then place her on her side of our bed (we co-sleep). She falls asleep right away.

Make sure your baby has awake time after feedings during the day, when you do some exercises, play with him, read books, dance. Make sure you keep him busy. When it’s time for nap, just put him in his crib. Babies need to learn how to fell asleep on their own and snooze themselves.  There are tons of resources online , if you want to learn about sleep training.

Put baby down drowsy but awake after I feed or asleep if he falls asleep at the breast. I am not willing to rock my baby to sleep at night. I did that with my first and I hated it, it not for me.

My girl is 8 weeks and during the day I just lay her down with a Pacifier. if I’m in the kitchen she’ll sleep in her bouncer and when it’s time for bedtime I’ll wrap her And just lay her down in her crib￼
