Birthday party BEFORE or AFTER birth date?

Let’s say your birthday falls on a Wednesday or something.. do you have your party the weekend before or the weekend after?

Depends on a lot of things.
Weather. Is it a birthday when it snows or when it’s scorching?
What time of year? Will the kids have to worry about school? Maybe one weekend falls on winter break while the other falls on a school weekend?
Schedules. Are parents available? Other family? Does anyone have to travel?
Are there other birthdays close to it? My sister’s birthday was July 26 and mine was Aug 6, so I would celebrate mine early and she would celebrate hers late so we could share a birthday.

I have it on the day and if people don’t bother then I don’t bother with theirs.

my birthday is near christmas so as a kid I would do it on the day of my bday since it was always school holidays. when i turn 21 i will be having it the weekend before since the weekend after will be christmas eve

Always after, I hate when I have it before bc  I won’t have fun on my birthday and I won’t have anything to look forward too either

We are all really spread out, so doing anything during the week really isn’t realistic. We figure out if the weekend before or after is better for most people and go with that. But we also see each other pretty frequently, so it’s really not a big deal 🤷🏼‍♀️
