Probiotic making infant stomach pains worse?

Has anyone found that these drops cause their baby MORE stomach pain? Our 3 week old has really struggled with reflux and gas pains. (He has a lip tie we are getting fixed next week) I started mylicon after night feedings and these once (5 drops) before bed. The last 2 nights he’s screamed in pain for about 2-3 hours and I just realized he does this shortly after getting his probiotic and starting mylicon. I wondered if anyone else has experienced something similar? It’s just frustrating because both mylicon and this probiotic seem to have such great reviews :( or maybe using both of them together is too much?

We had trouble with this specific brand with my daughter too. She reacted much better to the Mary Ruth Organics Liquid Infant Probiotic. Pretty sure it’s easy to get on Amazon and Target now too.

Does your baby grunt along with the screaming?  My baby had Grunting Baby Syndrome which is basically where she can't quite figure out how to poop.  Probiotics didn't help.  We tried a bunch of stuff and nothing helped. Unfortunately, all we could do was wait it out, which took about 3-4 months.  It was so hard to watch her grunt and scream and not be able to help, but she grew out of it just like her doctor said she would and now she poops like a champ! 😂  I hope it's something more easily fixed with your baby but you should look this up and see if it sounds like it.  It's frustrating but it'll pass.

Mylicon made my 4 week old way fussy, I also tried this probiotic and it didn’t seem to help. I changed to the emfamil + vitamin D and he is much happier now.

This is a normal side effect from ANY probiotics * THIS MAY NOT HAPPEN WITH ALL PROBIOTICS *  but it can because When first using probiotics, some people experience gas, bloating, or diarrhea. Changes in the gut microbiota can result in bacteria producing more gas than usual, which can lead to bloating. 
I would give it to him while he is awake if he needs it. You can also ask to be referred to Gi ( Gastroenterologist ) to have a specialist sort out any issues.

I started my baby girl on those probiotic drops when she was about 10 weeks old to help her reflux and gas, but her symptoms got worse shortly after. On a hunch I stopped the probiotic and her symptoms improved. I may try to reintroduce the probiotic again at a larger time and see what happens.
