If you are a SAHM, do you enjoy it?

I have days where I'm not vibing it at all. I have a 16 month old who is a handful and a newborn 7 week old who is so clingy. Maybe it's because they are so close in age, but sometimes I really don't like this job. I don't feel it's fulfilling 🥺😪 like is that my whole day? Changing diapers, feeding, dealing with tantrums? I'm hoping it gets better!

I love it. Some days are hard for sure but ultimately I feel really blessed that I have the opportunity to take care of my family in this way. It’s not for everyone  and that’s ok too!

I was a stay at home mom with my daughter for only a few months and I couldn’t do it anymore. It is seriously so hard. I am now in school to get on a new career path and am much happier. I feel like I enjoy the time I do have with my daughter much more now than I did when I spent all my time with her. It’s extremely mentally trying. Some people just aren’t meant for it. It’s extremely isolating and exhausting for some.

I stayed home for 16 months with my daughter. Initially I went off a month before my due date and I was so excited to be able to stay home with her... at first i really enjoyed being with her all the time but after a few months I started missing working and socializing with people. I had all the house chores to do, I had a baby to take care of, meals to make and everyday it was the same thing, cook, clean, care for the baby and then repeat and I felt like that was my only purpose. Of course I love my daughter and love being with her but 24/7, 7 days a week was becoming overwhelming and a little lonely. My husband got to leave everyday to do the things I missed doing. He would come home from work and put his feet up and I started to get bitter towards him because he had freedom and I felt like I didn’t. I ended up going back to work when she was 16 months and really enjoyed it for the first few weeks but then started missing my babe. There’s pros and cons to each. Staying home is hard because you spend days cooking, cleaning, diaper changes, feeding the baby, tending to the other people’s needs & it can become very depressing fast. Working is hard because you have to find/pay for childcare, you won’t be with your child as much, you’ll be working all day then busy doing all the chores around the house plus spending time with your babe. It really depends the person, some people love staying home and other just don’t. I love being with my daughter but I also feel like having a job gives me a bigger purpose then just mom. I was full time initially and it felt like to much so now I’m part time plus I pick up odd shifts if I want and it balances out better for me.

I have these days too! My first is 13 months and I’m 16 weeks with our second. I literally have to find things for ME otherwise I go crazy.. I raise chickens and turkeys, paint, and I am taking classes just so I feel like I have something to do other than raise a child and be pregnant. Not that I don’t love it but it definitely can be hard mentally sometimes.

I’m a stay at home mom, and let me tell you I’ve had my fair share of depressing days where I feel totally hopeless. But there’s also days where I’m so thankful that I’m able to raise my babies and watch them grow. I don’t miss anything and I’m so grateful for that! I always tell myself that this is just a short portion of life and it’s going to go so fast. If you ever need to just vent or talk feel free to send me a message! ❤️

I enjoy it. I have a 3.5 year old and am due in August. I also thoroughly enjoy my huge garden, cooking, exercising, fishing and raising my son. I have a bachelors degree,  plan on going back for my masters and opening a nursery.

I went back to work after 8 weeks of maternity leave, spent the next 9 month of my daughter's life working, and was absolutely miserable. I loved my job but STRUGGLED managing both my home and work stress. Work stress made me stress more at home, getting behind on my house made me stress at work, and it was just a vicious cycle where I felt like I wasn't giving enough to my family. Now I've been a forced SAHM (military family and we're living overseas) and I feel so much better. I'm still not able to completely keep up with my house but I don't feel like I'm neglecting my family anymore. I definitely have rough days and I'm pouring myself a drink as soon as my husband walks in the door, but in my opinion it's still better than how I felt before.
