How to ask for a refund for a non refund policy when they didn’t fulfill their job

I made an appointment for 8am service to get my hair done, she required $31 deposit . I paid it then my appointment was booked. then the morning of (now) she saying that she can’t do 8am and prefers 11am; I say I can’t. #1 I just got off work and it’s easier for me to just go straight there (SHes an hour away) #2 I’m probably not going to wake up if I have to drive home to Hanover Pennsylvania to DC. So she wants to reschedule, honestly this makes me want to get my deposit back and go to someone else. I had a weird feeling that 8am was too early for her .

What do I do if she refuses to give me back my money???
