Toddler Night Terrors?

Two nights ago my 2yr old, who has always slept solid through the night, suddenly changed sleep patterns. He now wakes up every 1-2hrs, sits up in bed, and screams. He doesn't acknowledge us when we calm him down, even if we try to yell so he hears us over the screaming. We have to turn the light on and stand him on his feet to snap him out of it.
I think it's night terrors. Any advice on easing it for him? We're all exhausted.

It does sound like night terrors. My pediatrician said when they wake up they don’t recognize where they are or even who you are so you need to be really calm and patient with them because they are literally terrified and don’t know what’s happening. You can Google tips for this. One I read is if it happens the same time every night, try waking them up before it happens. But you said every two hours? I’m not sure. I’d also tell your pediatrician. They can give you tips and make sure nothing else is going on ♥️

My son has these. It’s always easier to wake him up completely then soothe. My son will scream until he vomits if we don’t wake him up. 
I’m not sure how to stop them. They’ve tapered off, he’ll be 3 in September. We let him come into our bed when he has them.

If you can predict the night terrors, then you can try to catch him before they start. Around 15-30 minutes before the expected terror, wake him up. Just gently get him awake. Talk to him a little, sing a song, whatever. Then put him back down to sleep. If it's happening every 1-2 hours through the night that might be a lot, but it should stop the screaming. My son's were never predictable, so we just have to deal with the fall out. My husband's aren't either and let me tell you, a 6'7" man freaking out about the spiders in the bed is not a fun way to wake up
