trust issues

so my boyfriend of 5 years and i just moved in together about 2-3 months ago. we are both on the lease we have other debt together and we have a dog together. so a few days ago he basically broke up with me for not trusting him. we’ve had little spats/ short breakups before but this time we are living together. he is currently sleeping on the couch and will hardly look in my direction. how do i handle the situation? i’ve tried talking about the situation with him and he tells me he doesn’t want to talk to me. do i continue to try and work things out or do i give him some time to be mad and see if he comes to me? we are in a year long lease so i’m in a very sticky position. help!!
