Air Conditioners???

Question

Okay, not specifically a baby product but I had no idea where else to post. My house does not have central air and the only window large enough to fit a window AC unit in our ENTIRE house is the living room. Even with it running on high all day with a chain of fans leading to my son's room it doesn't get nearly as cool in his room as I'd like. His windows only open 12 inches (side to side not up and down) and I can't for the life of me find a window unit narrower than 16 inches. Does anyone have ANY product they can recommend that can cool down my son's room? It keeps climbing into the high 80s and 90s and I'm so sick of it 😮‍💨😭 It doesn't help that his room is on the west side of the house either 😣

Not this exact one but something similar is what we used in our apt that had no ac. They only vent out the window and the one we got was only like 10 inches wide for the window vent. The rest was inside and worked great. We a 1200 sq ft apt and the room it was in was coldest obviously but using fans we kept the whole place pretty cool. Also get uv film for the windows. We put it up and dropped the inside temp 5-10 degrees just with that

We have a portable a/c in our garage and it really works great. The one we have is an LG from Walmart.com. The higher the btu, the stronger it will be, but you may not need a super strong one for your bedroom. We've had ours for almost 2 years running day and night in south Florida, just to give you an idea! You need to be able to vent it out the window for proper humidity control, but they sell kits online. If you're on a lower level, I recommend getting one of those window keys so you can't further open the window to prevent break in.
