Husband made a reckless purchase

We are renting.. it’s not cheap. I’m a SAHM. My husband is the sole provider, he’s also starting his own business this week which will be $10000 roughly.. he told me he got me a gift, I said i hope it’s nothing expensive, we are a little tight right now. He came home and bought one of those robot vacuums/mops. I researched and found it was $800, but we already have a $1000 vaccum in perfect condition.

I was very surprised and said thank you, but I said I was thinking it would be a laptop or an investment for his business.. do I have a right to be a little disappointed? I don’t know why he’d buy such an expensive thing with our current situation.
