Do you believe in 50/50 relationships?

Question

My definition of it is both partners put in effort, support, love, appreciation etc. But all my friends are like “no it’s the man’s job to support you and treat you like a queen”. I’ve even had GUY friends tell me this so am I wrong??? Im super independent, used to doing everything myself and I’m not comfortable with asking a guy for things but I know in a relationship I’d have to work on that. But I’m genuinely confused about dating and relationships today so I stay single lol

I believe relationships should be mutual. Both should give and receive. I would never sit by and let a man just bankroll me. 
But relationships aren't always 50/50. Sometimes it will be 60/40 or 70/30, etc. You pick up the slack when your partner needs help and the opposite.

We are a team . A unit. We both put our all into the life we have built. Our relationship,  the kids, the house, our individual needs. We both take care of it.

I think the true definition of a partner is someone who reciprocates all that you do. I would never solely depend on a man to take care of me but I do believe it’s his job to provide and protect. It’s a trait I look for that really separates the boys from men. It’s not because I need him to support me but it shows his mindset. Plus if I have a guy treating me like that, it makes me want to do twice as much for him. I’m single too though 🤣🤣🤣

This might sound silly and it doesn’t make much sense mathematically speaking, but I prefer to think of relationships as 100:100. Of course, realistically, it’s not likely for each partner to always be able to give 100%, but I still prefer to quantify partners as entirely themselves, rather than two parts of one whole. Each partner should always try to give 100% personal effort, to the best of their ability. It’s more about balancing what works for you, and less about giving any more or less (if that makes sense). Life is complicated so what that actually looks like will obviously vary person to person, relationship to relationship, and situation to situation, and that’s okay. Things such as chores and finances, can be split 50/50, 70/30, 60/40, or however works for you, but generally speaking within the relationship as a whole, each partner should give 100%. Equal effort in communication, compromise, mutual care, love, affection, etc., are all vital to healthy and successful relationships.

My marriage dynamic is that we are a team. Some days are not 50/50, some days it’s 70/30 or 30/70. We balance eachother.

There should always be a balance that works for the couple. Before my husband and I had kids things went kind of like this. He buys movie tickets I buy snacks, he buys dinner/gets groceries one time I get it next, we both shared chores etc. Now that we have kids I get to stay home so I take a brunt of the chores while he covers most of our income (I get child tax and right now maternity leave)

I believe in 50/50 I'm a STAHM though so I don't get to help with the finances but I take care of our daughter while he works and through the night so he can sleep, do majority of house hold chores and take care of our dog. I never felt like I could ask him for help with the house because he works while I don't but he seen me getting overwhelmed and never really having time to relax and told me if I needed help to let him know so he helps with the house as well now and gas always helped with our daughter when he comes home

I believe it’s should be 50/50, I don’t think a woman should expect a man to do more of the work it takes two in a good relationship to make it work aslong as there is things like compromise, trust, good Communication, respect and love why should it be expected that the woman does the least
