Scared of Baby Father

So one of my guys friends is dating a girl who has a 3 year old son. I’ve never known the situation at all but he asked me today how he can help her because she’s “deathly afraid of the father of her child”

I don’t know who to ask and I don’t want to not give him advice because I want her to be protected. But I’ve never been in this situation and neither have my friends.

I’ll put together the little info that I know from them dating the last two years:

-When she gave birth and when the baby when young the baby father was in jail

-He has zero custody over the child

-She has an order of protection on him

-Shes worried the police don’t care about the situation at all

I’m sorry I don’t know why or any scenarios but I don’t really want to ask because it’s not my business but he asked me for advice and I’d love to be able to help her and keep her safe!

Do any moms know what to do in this situation?
