Are we just crazy and jumping to decisions?

Hi!

So my husband and I have an adorable two year old son and baby boy #2 coming in November. We are both turning 25 next month. When discussing family planning, we had always talked of 2 kids. After we had our son, the birth had traumatized us both to the point that we were set with just him. Well, after his first birthday, we talked more and more about wanting #2. Here we are about a year later lol. With finding out about the pregnancy, also came up the topic of what we are wanting to after the birth to prevent pregnancy. My husband is very understanding of me not wanting to go back on birth control (very bad experience), and I suggested getting my tubes tied after baby. My husband fully disagreed with the idea and instead suggested he make an appointment for a vasectomy. Now, since family finding out we are having another boy, we’ve gotten eat fulls about “#3 will be a girl!” “Keep trying until you get a girl.” And when I (politely) say we don’t think a third is in the books for us, we have heard all about how we don’t know that for sure and we’re still young.

Are we just jumping to a decision? I totally get we’re still young parents, but I’m kind of curious if any other young married couple made this sort of decision in their 20s. Lmk
