Weening off the Nipple Shield
I was given a nipple shield once we got to our mother/baby room after delivery. Baby was latching well in the delivery room, but not sucking. A nurse in the mother’s unit gave me the shield and within a few latching attempts, baby was sucking.
I’m now in day 5 and reading horrible things about the nipple shield and the need to ween my baby off.
Has a anyone stayed on the shield? Any tips or tricks you found helpful for weening your little one off?
