Period came randomly on the mini pill is this normal?

I’m 7 months postpartum and also breastfeeding. I started taking the pill 3 1/2 months ago. I haven’t had a period since my afterbirth bleeding. I thought I wouldnt have a period either from me breastfeeding or from the mini pill. 2 days ago I started spotting now it’s like a norma period. What’s going on? Why am I just now randomly getting a period?!?! While on the mini pill and breastfeeding

Just wanted to say I’m 5.5 months pp, ebf and feeding overnight still and I’ve had my second period now on the mini pill. Feeling ripped off that it’s back even with all that!

I always had a period on the mini-pill (not breastfeeding) and when I was on the mini-pill + breastfeeding my period was erratic (came back at 6 months).
The mini-pill doesn’t typically stop ovulation. It works mainly by thinning the endometrial lining and increasing cervical fluid. So you can still have a period while on it even though there is no placebo week.
