Is it wrong to talk to boyfriend’s mom like this?

I often confide in my boyfriend’s mom about our relationship problems. I am very close to his mom so she will tell me when he does something that upsets her and I will do the same. Is this wrong?

You’re eventually going to disagree, especially if you guys get married and have kids. If you’re fine with that, cool, but that relationship gets a lot more complicated once kids are involved.

Not wrong in my opinion. She’s probably the only person who won’t think of him negatively if you complain about him. For example if you complain about him to your own mother then your mother might start to think negatively of him but his own mother won’t. But you don’t want to only share complaints or she won’t think you’re a good partner for her son.

I say no keep this relationship with her. I have the same relationship with my mother in law. It has been nothing but great I have been married for almost 8 years and have a 5yr old with him. She and I always talk/vent she guides me and never takes sides. Yes I know what you guys will say “he’s mom, she’ll always pick he’s side” but no she will always give her advice and what she believes and if I’m not comfortable with something her son did. Her answer is always pray for him. And that god changes he’s ways. Among other advice. Communication and to find each other’s love language ￼

I guess what I’m trying to say is the relationship you have with his mother may cause issues in the future….maybe the confident is a tad too close to home.

Honestly that's the kind of relationship I have with my Mother In Law.  I love her and she loves me and I know she can give me some insight into her son.  Sometimes I dont like what she says but she is honest and tells me what I need to hear verse what I want to hear.  And having her grandkids and sadly losing our daughter/ her granddaughter has made us even closer bc she knows what it's like to lose a child. So we share more now and our closer than we did/were before the car accident.
