Pumping schedule??

Question

I just had my Sons two month appt and he’s in the 16th percentile so they want me to pump this week and give him bottles to see how much he’s actually drinking. 
I’m curious what your schedules look like?  
I’ll be going back to work soon so I’ll have to pump like this during the day anyway but he sleeps from 9:30-6am so it’ll be only day pumping knock on wood.

I exclusively pump ans bottle feed. For the first few weeks I pump every three hours to really make sure your supply is set, now I pump 5 times a day the first three of the day about 4 hours apart and that’s when I get most of my milk, then the fourth whenever I can for it in between 430-6 depending on dinner etc, my last pump of the day is at about 10:00. 
Right now my schedule is generally 5am, 9am, 1/130, 430/5, 10.
I use the kiinde bottle system u can pump and feed directly from the same bag it’s a lifesaver.

Are you going from 9:30pm to 6 am without emptying your breasts? That has probably caused your supply to drop. 
You need to pump as often as he eats. Likely you should pump sometime between 9:30-6 to make sure you maintain supply. Unless you have large storage capacity. But if he isn’t gaining well you may have a supply issue.

Hey girl! I found this on Pinterest! Looks like right now you should try to pump every 3 hours. Our babes are almost 3 months so you could probably get away with skipping the 3am pump especially since your little one is sleeping so well! Good luck 💕 
Also, my little man was 16 percentile at his 2 month appt… don’t stress! Someone will always be down in the bottom 25th percentile! As long as he’s gaining weight and not dropping majorly in percentiles, he’s doing great!

So, not everyone responds to the pump as well as a baby. I would consult an IBCLC and start with a weighted feeding (before starting to exclusively pump)

I EP and currently pump every 3 hours around the clock. If you are pumping you are going to need to do so just as often or more often than your baby eats because your body knows the difference and supply is much harder to maintain. My schedule normally is this 3,6,9,12,3,6,9,11 so I get a 4 hour stretch at night. A middle of the night pump is important as that’s when your prolactin levels are the highest and you will most likely produce the most milk. Milk doesn’t regulate until around 12wpp and you shouldn’t be pumping less than 7 times a day, ideally 8-12 times a day. Good luck mama! Pumping is HARD and I hope things go well for you 😊😊
