What should I pack?

Hey moms! I’m 36 weeks pregnant. This is my first baby and I have no idea what to pack or what I need😣 any advice on what I need? My due date is coming up fast and I’m one stressed mama🥴

For me, I only ever pack the following: 
my labor gown
a nursing gown and robe
Loose clothing to wear home
Toiletries 
phone charger
For husband:
Clothing
Phone charger
Toiletries
Baby:
Coming home outfit
Maybe one or two other outfits to play dress up in :) 
Boppy pillow
Carseat
My hospital gives us everything needed for baby and me post delivery. All of our stuff fits in one bag so I take an empty one to fill up with everything the hospital gives. We come home with tons of diapers, wipes, bulb syringe, blanket and hat, postpartum pads and underwear, witch hazel pads and more.

You really don't need much the hospital provides everything you need for you and for the newborn.

Extra long phone charger and chapstick. And if you end up getting induced, bring something to do (I brought a deck of cards and played card games with my husband until the pain got unbearable. Adult coloring books would also work well for this)

Most hospitals provide your baby needs but appropriate clothing for baby
Car seat 
At least 1 or 2 bottles
Your formula of choice (even if you plan to breast feed it’s best to have a backup plan so if you don’t produce enough breast milk your baby still gets nourishment. Yes hospitals have formula pre-made but your baby may have issues with that formula) 
Diapers (in case baby reacts to hospital brand diapers
Baby bottle brush (for obvious reasons- and mommas water bottle)
Blankets, burp rags, and swaddlers keeping baby dry clean and comfortable is 3/4 of the battle. 
A couple dog pads - they’re cheap, disposable and make one helluva changing pad, they’re also the same thing as hospital chucks as well. 
A pacifier. If baby is inconsolable unless hitting the bottle stick that paci in and rest assured that your lil bundle isn’t inhaling air with every suck. 
Remember your labor and delivery is mostly about baby BUT you can’t provide for baby if you are not caring for yourself too. So here’s some things for momma:
1. Hygiene care products such as shampoo conditioner deodorant my a women’s cleanser. Face wash, maybe a brush or comb. 
2. Sanitary napkins, cup or panties. Everyone’s different find what works for you. A comfy outfit or three ( dont assume parenting is a one and done.)
3. Maybe 2-3 comfortable outfits for you as well. 
4. Bring your phone! Take those photos. 
5. Cell charger? Laptop/iPad cord? 
6 trust you! Your body won’t fail you with parenting.

Chapstick, chargers, a book or an iPad or something to watch shows on (between visitors I was bored and nothing is on TV during the day), ponytail holders, slippers or cozy socks... a cute robe for when you have visitors. They provided diapers, wipes, pads, tucks, mesh undies... 
I do think I want to buy the Frida Mom postpartum kit this time but I wouldn’t bother bringing it to the hospital, just have it for at home. I recommend having a peri bottle for each bathroom. They sent one home with me, but I will get another.

I definitely overpacked i would suggest taking:
-chargers
-water bottle
-change of clothes 
-toiletries (including shampoo and conditioner)
-snacks
-non slip shoes/slippers (it was weird for me but the shoes I went in to give birth didn’t fit leaving because of the water retention in my feet so I had to leave in socks haha)

If your from the UK you need to take everything with you as they don't provide nappies, wipes or anything for baby and they definitely don't provide mothers with anything either 😔
