im trying to explore my options and would love to hear of your personal experiences with BC and in what ways they effected you...

I started on Lo Loestrin and I had no cramps but periods twice a month. I switched to Junel and have been on it for a year. I have 4 day periods and only slight cramping one day.

Depo has put me through hell. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. When I was younger I was on Yaz and it worked pretty well.

If you want kids in the next few years I would stay away from Depo and Implanon. I've heard so many women have difficulties in the full year following, after going off them.

I was on Yasmin/Ocella for 4 years. Kariva for 2 years and the patch (OrthoEvra) for 3 months in between. I went off the patch as soon as I could. I gained 10lbs in those 3 months.

Different birth controls work for different people - your best bet is to talk to your doctor about what will work best for you. Personally, I loved Lo Loestrin Fe, but had breakthrough bleeding whenever I didn't take it at the exact same minute every day.
