Past due date - not dilated

So with my 1st, my labor ended in an emergency csection 28 hours after induction at 40+4. I am now 40+3 with baby #2 and I have had several days with consistent contractions 2 to 6 minutes apart for hours and then they just stop. At my 40 week appt, I was told I'm still not dilated at all. I was REALLY hoping for a VBAC this time around but dr won't induce for it, I have to go into labor on my own... we have been doing ALL the things to try to kick start labor and it just isn't happening.

Anyone have a similar story and end with a successful VBAC? I do have an NST and growth ultrasound tomorrow to check on baby past due date. I'm so mentally and physically exhausted I just don't know if it's worth waiting for labor at this point.
