Foley Bulb?

Question

Has anyone been induced with a Foley bulb before? I opted into getting induced at 39 weeks and they mentioned using one of these. I had a girlfriend get one done and she said it was uncomfortable, but nothing else. Just want opinions! 😊

Youtube bundled birth with sarah lavonne. She is a doula and was a L&D nurse and has 2 videos about inductions. I had cervidil with my first and my cervix was barely a cm and thick, it took 2 days and 2 rounds for it to work. This time im requesting for a foley bulb (pending on what OB is on call when im induced of they will agree to it) as it will work faster than cervidil. Just my experience, everyone is different. Foley bulbs are heard to be more uncomfortable because of the pressure they put on your cervix to dilate it but from what ive heard, they work faster.

I had one when I was induced one week ago today. Let me tell you it is not comfortable at all. Alot of pressure and I went right into contractions when I got it. I had back labor for 7 hours that eventually died down as the pressure went away. One suggestion i have is Get.In.The.Tub! The best advice my nurse gave me and I sat in it for two hours straight. When I say it took all the pressure away immediately I am being so serious... It gave me enough relief and relaxed me enough that I was actually able to sleep a few hours.  I wouldn't have been able to keep it in for 12 hours otherwise.
