GD, Heartburn, leg cramps and next friday needs to hurry up!
Im a gestational diabetic with my second son (had it with my first as well). I am on the same insulin that i used with my first son but this time im over it. I had leg cramps with my first, and again with my second currently, only this time I discovered that my insulin is intensifying my leg cramps. I tested the theory out after noticing patterns when my dosages are upped. My leg cramps were painful, intense and last 5-10mins, I would have to get my husband to rub my calfs for them to go away or I would be in more pain. I have a lot of tension in them as well. I drank 4 venti cups of water the day before i had a calf cramp in the morning, i wasnt taking my insulin to test out my theory, and I had a normal leg cramp for the first time all pregnancy that lasted maximum 3min before I could get up and move. Im terrified to go back onto my insulin because of how intense the cramps are. They are far from normal. My OB said to keep taking my insulin but I really dont trust it. I see my diabetic dr tomorrow, online it says leg cramps can be a serious side effect of my insulin, my OB says to take magnesium and I just want to diet control until this baby is born. I'm being induced next friday and it cant come soon enough. The heartburn is nagging intensly every day, and my calfs are forever tense. I'm so ready to meet baby boy and just let my body go back to normal. To make life even better... I live in alberta where its currently ranging from 37-42 degrees celcius, if you live in the states, thats 107.6F. We are cooking over here 😂
