Pumping stop milk production??

So ive heard that if you only pump and don’t actually breastfeed on your breast that you breasts will stop producing milk due to lack of necessary nipple stimulation. Is this true? I have only been pumping for the past couple days and am still making plenty of milk. But I’m just curious to if this is true, or what your experiences have been!

I’ve made roughly 12k ounces of milk that I donated from pumping and that’s not counting the fresh bottles I give my baby.
So that is absolutely incorrect.

If you choose to exclusively pump your supply wont dry up as long as you keep up with a routine. It starts to dry up when you start missing pumps, not taking as long per session, etc.  I exclusively pumped for 8 months before my body stopped BUTTTT i was skipping pumps a lot, was dehydrated a lot, and didnt take the time that i should have

I ONLY pump. Many women only pump. It's called exclusively pumping. I am 5 Months post partum and my baby's only had breastmilk from me pumping

Absolutely not true! Although baby is far more effective at pulling milk out than a pump ever will be. But that doesn’t mean you will stop producing if you only pump.

Not true at all. I breast feed exclusively for 3 months, pumped and nursed for another 6 months and then exclusively pumped for another 6. never noticed a change.
