How do I know if my baby is too hot?

I have a 3 week old newborn at home and it is so hot outside that our house is 80 degrees even with ac running. I’m really worried he will get too hot. What can I do, and how will I know if he’s overheating? I’ve been checking his temperature. Would a bath cool him down or make it worse?

Wiping him with a cool cloth would help if you see signs of him over heating such as being very fussy, red or over tired. But keeping him in just a onesie or plain ol’ diaper will be just as effective! Hope this helps!

Feel the back of baby’s neck or their chest, if it’s sweaty or very warm they could be warm. Babies will also usually let you know if they’re too hot by being fussy and crying!
You can wipe baby down with a cloth or a wet wipe periodically if they are looking or acting warm. Otherwise just keep in in a short sleeve onesie and diaper and he should be good. 
I am dealing with something similar. Try not to stress! I’ve made myself crazy worrying about our guys temp for no reason
